The Forner-Alcaide series designations refer to rootstocks obtained through traditional hybridization of Cleopatra mandarin and Poncirus trifoliata Rubidoux. These plants are intended not for producing commercial fruit, but for providing resistance in grafted crops to adverse factors.

Characteristic properties of this group of rootstocks are resistance to citrus tristeza virus, high tolerance to salinity, calcareous soils, and waterlogging, as well as to the nematode Tylenchulus semipenetrans. The use of these rootstocks contributes to a reduction in tree size and improvement in the fruit characteristics of grafted varieties.
