This hybrid was developed as part of a hybridization breeding program launched in 1974. The main objective of the development is to create rootstocks with high tolerance to Citrus tristeza virus, and resistance to Phytophthora, nematodes, salinity, and lime-induced chlorosis.

The purpose of using this hybrid as a rootstock is to control the vigor of the grafted scion varieties, which allows for smaller and more compact trees. Currently, the specific morphological characteristics of this specimen are not described in open reference materials, as it is a numbered hybrid undergoing trials.
