The variety is a perennial herbaceous plant 20–30 cm in height, forming lacy dissected foliage. In spring, the leaves are green, and as they grow, they acquire a golden-yellow hue or variegation. Flowering occurs in May–June, accompanied by the appearance of fragrant tubular flowers of a cobalt-blue or turquoise color.
The plant is an ephemeral and enters a state of dormancy in mid-to-late summer, when the foliage dies back. The variety is intended for shaded and partially shaded areas with moist, well-drained soils. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 6–8.
