Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant reaches a height of 4–6 meters and has a comparable crown diameter. A characteristic feature is the large foliage of a purple-red shade, which maintains its brightness in the sun and acquires orange-red tones in the fall. In partial shade, the leaf color may fade to greenish.

The fruits are large, oblong or broadly elliptical in shape, flattened at the ends, and encased in a reddish-brown shell. The nuts easily separate from the husk. Market maturity occurs in the second half of September. The plant begins fruiting 3–4 years after planting.

The variety is winter hardy, drought tolerant, and resistant to strong winds. It develops well on fertile, well-drained soils, but does not tolerate waterlogging or high groundwater levels. It is used in landscape design for solitary plantings, hedges, and creating color accents.
