Variety description

The plant is a herbaceous perennial that dies back to ground level during the winter period. Forms a neat upright bush 45–60 cm tall and 30–45 cm wide. The foliage has a lanceolate shape and a glaucous-green shade.
Flowers with a diameter of about 7 cm have a deep cherry-chocolate shade and a velvety texture. The plant prefers sunny locations, fertile well-drained soil, and moderate watering. Flowering occurs in the summer-autumn period.
The variety has marginal winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 9–11. In regions with a cold climate, protection of tubers from frost is required by mulching or digging up for the winter period.
