The BelEnzian variety was created through multi-stage crossing of germplasm from wild populations from Ethiopia and Turkey with the Indy variety. It represents specialized material for technical oil production.

The plant possesses moderate resistance to infection by the fungus Alternaria brassicicola. Product quality is characterized by high erucic acid content, and the seeds of the variety are frequently used in biochemical research on enzymes.

In comparative field trials, the variety demonstrated yields equal to or exceeding the indices of such varieties as Indy, Meyer, and Prophet.
