The plant reaches a height of 50–80 cm, the growing season is 110–130 days, and flowering occurs in the second ten days of June. The thousand kernel weight is in the range of 6–7 g. The variety shows low sensitivity to soil conditions, but requires good drainage and does not tolerate high acidity or waterlogging.
The seeds contain about 36% fat and 50–55% erucic acid, which determines the technical use of the oil in the production of polyamides, resins, paints, detergents, and synthetic rubber. The oil cake contains 25–35% protein, but its use in feed is limited due to the high level of glucosinolates.
The variety is used as an oilseed crop, green manure, or a component of feed mixtures for wild animals. The straw can be used as fuel for energy needs.
