The interspecific hybrid Cucurbita maxima x Cucurbita moschata is intended for grafting watermelons. The use of this rootstock does not have a negative effect on fruit taste and contributes to an increase in fruit mass by 20–25%. It is recommended to sow rootstock seeds 2–3 days later than watermelon seeds.

The plant possesses intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt of watermelon, Fusarium root rot, and Fusarium wilt of melon. It is characterized by good germination, high cold tolerance, and reduced susceptibility to sudden wilt.
