The hybrid is the result of crossing Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita moschata. It is used exclusively as a rootstock for grafting cucurbits, providing high graft compatibility and vigorous growth of grafted plants.

The plant possesses high cold tolerance and provides resistance in grafted crops to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum. Use of this rootstock promotes an increase in fruit weight and higher flesh density without impairing the flavor qualities of the scion.
