The Ercole hybrid is not a food crop and is used exclusively in agronomy as a rootstock for grafting cucurbits. Its use allows for increased yield and ensures protection of plants against soil-borne pathogens, in particular Fusarium.

Morphologically, the hybrid is characterized by a smooth fruit surface with a raised profile in the apex area. Its biological qualities are optimized to ensure scion viability; therefore, maturity characteristics and fruit taste properties are not considered for this object.
