The plant is long-vining, has vigorous growth and abundant foliage, with vine lengths reaching 3 meters. The period from emergence to fruit ripening is 100–115 days. The variety shows high adaptability to growing conditions and soils; in a number of reports, resistance to powdery mildew, mosaic virus, and downy mildew is noted.
The fruits have a flat-round, heavily segmented shape and reach 50–70 cm in diameter. The average fruit weight is 7–15 kg, and under favorable conditions up to 20–25 kg. The dense, thin skin turns a saturated red-orange color upon ripening. The bright orange flesh is characterized by density, juiciness, and a nutty flavor, while being less fibrous than many other varieties.
The variety is for universal use; the fruits are used for making purees, juices, soups, baking, and pastries. Mature fruits have good keeping quality and are suitable for long-distance transport. The spectacular appearance of the fruits allows them to be used for decorative purposes.
