The plant is a first-generation hybrid obtained by crossing Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita moschata. It possesses vigorous growth and maintains high development vigor even under adverse external factors.
It is used as a base for grafting watermelon, melon, and cucumber. The rootstock demonstrates high compatibility with scions and resistance to a number of soil-borne diseases, including Fusarium (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum, Fusarium solani).
The use of the rootstock contributes to increased yield and maintenance of fruit quality in grafted crops. The fruits of the hybrid itself are not intended for food use, and seed collection from the plants is impractical due to trait segregation in subsequent generations.
