The Rano variety is classified as Dactylis glomerata. In documentation from the 1970s, the name is sometimes supplemented with the word Trifolium, which refers to the originator company or seed distributor, rather than the genus Trifolium.
In variety trial materials from 1966–1970, high productivity of the variety in terms of dry matteryield was noted. Detailed modern morphological characteristics and disease resistance data are absent in open sources, given that the variety is historical.
