The variety «Tardus» (or «Tardus II») was obtained by the method of multiple selection from the «Skandia» variety. In terms of its morphological characteristics, the plant is close to the «Frode» variety and is distinguished by higher leafiness compared to a number of analogues.
The plant belongs to forage crops and is winter-hardy. Depending on test conditions, it is classified as a relatively late-maturing variety, although in a number of cases its relative precocity was noted. In terms of biomass yield, the variety may be inferior to highly productive analogues.
