The De Colmar à cœur rouge variety is characterized by a growing period of 140 to 150 days. The roots have a massive cone-shaped or cylindrical-conical shape; the flesh is firm, colored red or bright orange. The plant height reaches 30 cm, leaf type is bushy.
The plant possesses good cold tolerance and is capable of withstanding temperature drops down to -15 °C. The harvest is intended for collection in the autumn period and subsequent long-term winter storage. It is a variety of the classic European type, suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing.
