The variety has been known in commerce since 1875 and is open-pollinated. In German-language sources, the variety is mentioned under the name Lange rote stumpfe ohne Herz, which means "long red blunt-tipped without core".

The roots reach a length of about 16 cm and have a cylindrical shape. The variety is early or mid-early and is suitable for fresh consumption and canning.
