The plant forms tall cane-like pseudobulbs with glossy green leaves, reaching a height of 45–50 cm. The flowers are colored in an intense purple-violet shade with a yellowish-cream center, are arranged in groups along the stems, and possess a fragrance.

The flowering period occurs between the end of winter and mid-summer. To form flower buds and ensure regular flowering in subsequent years, the plant requires a dormant period with cool conditions and reduced watering during the autumn-winter season.
