The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing Digitalis purpurea and Digitalis canariensis. The plant is a compact semi-evergreen perennial or biennial about 60 cm tall with dark green foliage.
Inflorescences are spicate, consisting of large tubular flowers of a purple-pink shade with dark plum and gold colored speckles. Flowering begins in early summer; if spent flower stalks are pruned, re-flowering is possible until autumn. The variety is capable of flowering in the first year of planting.
The plant is toxic if ingested. Requires planting in well-drained soil.
