The variety is an interspecific hybrid that inherited winter hardiness and large flower size from Digitalis grandiflora, as well as compact foliage and resistance from Digitalis obscura. The plant forms a basal rosette of dark green leaves and sturdy upright stems.
The flowers are bell-shaped, colored in peach-yellow tones with red-brown spots in the throat. Due to sterility, the hybrid does not set seeds and flowers continuously from June to early autumn. The variety is winter-hardy, suitable for borders, group plantings, and container cultivation, and is toxic.
