Variety description

The plant forms a dense mound 30–45 cm tall and up to 60 cm in diameter. The evergreen foliage has a burgundy or copper hue in the spring, becomes light green with a bronze edge in the summer, and turns dark red in the autumn.

Small star-shaped or bell-shaped flowers range from light pink to purple-pink with darker centers. Flowering begins in early spring and continues until May.

The variety is winter hardy, suitable for USDA zones 4–8. It prefers partial shade or shade, sites protected from the wind, and humus-rich, drained soils with a neutral or acidic reaction.
