Variety description

In spring, the plant's foliage is bright yellow, turning to a chartreuse shade by mid-summer, and combining golden and green tones by the end of the season. Stems have a steel blue hue. The flowers are bright blue and gathered in dense ovoid heads; bracts vary from silvery-blue to golden at the tips.
A mature plant reaches 50–60 cm in height and 30–40 cm in width. Flowering occurs in mid- to late summer. The crop is winter hardy (USDA zone 4–9) and drought tolerant once established. It prefers full sun and well-drained poor soils, as there is a tendency for lodging in fertile and moist areas. The variety is resistant to deer and rabbit grazing.
