The variety is a sterile hybrid of Eryngium alpinum and Eryngium bourgatii. The plant forms a bush 60–90 cm tall with erect, branching stems of intense blue color and a basal rosette of dark green, heart-shaped, prickly-toothed leaves.
Inflorescences are dense, ovoid heads of a blue-violet shade, surrounded by stiff bracts. The flowering period lasts from July to October. The plant is drought-tolerant and winter-hardy; however, it is prone to lodging in moist soils and requires protection from winter moisture stagnation.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
