Variety description

The variety is a mutation of the Escallonia laevis Gold Brian variety. It is an upright shrub with a compact crown shape and variegated leaf coloration, combining golden-yellow and green colors.
Flowers of a pink or carmine-pink shade have a light fragrance. The plant is characterized by moderate winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -7°C...-10°C, and is adapted to the conditions of coastal areas.
The variety is genetically unstable: during vegetative propagation, a high frequency of reversion to the traits of the original form with the loss of characteristic variegation is observed. It is used in ornamental landscaping as a specimen plant or for forming hedges.
