The variety is a hybrid of Euphorbia milii and is used as an ornamental pot crop. In a number of countries, the variety is also known under the commercial synonym Gabriela Red.
The plant is a bushy perennial. A characteristic feature is continuous flowering throughout the year and the presence of relatively large leaves compared to some other varieties in the group.
