The Lifestum variety (also referred to as Lifesturm in documents) is used in agricultural research to evaluate the adaptability and resistance of plants to external conditions. It serves as a standard in international protocols for testing buckwheat for distinctness, uniformity, and stability, and also serves as a benchmark for determining the start of the flowering period.

In comparative field trials, the variety demonstrated grain yield indicators used for comparison with other genotypes. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are not presented in open sources.
