The «Darja» variety was developed by crossing local Slovenian black buckwheat with a high-yielding variety of Russian origin. According to its biological characteristics, it belongs to the diploid varieties.
In agronomic trials, the variety is classified as late-maturing. It demonstrates high yield, which makes it one of the most cultivated buckwheat varieties in South-Eastern Europe.
The crop is intended for the production of grain and groats. The variety is a subject of research aimed at studying grain composition and the adaptation capabilities of the plant under different seeding rates.
