Variety description

The plant forms a compact clump and does not produce long rhizome runners. A mature specimen reaches a height of up to 4 meters. The shoots are initially green in color, which changes to a yellowish hue with age.
The leaves are large for this species, light green in color. The variety is evergreen but may partially shed its leaves in autumn. In unfavorable weather conditions, the leaves curl to conserve moisture.
The plant is suitable for cultivation in sun and partial shade, and is wind-resistant. It is suitable for use as a specimen plant, in hedges, as a windbreak, and also for cultivation in containers. The variety tolerates pruning well.
