Variety description

The variety is a perennial bunchgrass with fine leaves. It has dense basal leaves, which are longer, wider, and coarser than those of sheep fescue. Under favorable conditions, stems reach a height of about 76 cm. The root system is massive, heavy, and fibrous, with the root mass in the upper soil layer capable of significantly exceeding the mass of the above-ground part.

The plant is long-lived, competitive against weeds, and well-tolerant of shading and poor soils. The variety exhibits resistance to drought and major turfgrass diseases. Forage value is assessed as medium to low.

The primary purpose of the variety is soil-protective landscaping, including the stabilization of ditch slopes, road verges, airports, forest clearings, and ski slopes. It is also used for weed suppression in fruit plantations and the creation of grass cover on sites where mowing is difficult.
