Variety description

10 August 2026

The Discovery variety is classified as hard fescue (Festuca trachyphylla), which is also referred to in literature as Festuca ovina var. duriuscula. The erroneous classification of the variety as sheep fescue (Festuca ovina) stems from the grouping of various fine-leaved fescues in lawn grass mixtures.

This variety is used for forming lawn covers that do not require frequent or complex maintenance. Research confirms the variety's good resistance to various plant diseases.
