The variety is a perennial forage grass of the semi-bunch type with broad, succulent leaves. It belongs to late-maturing varieties and is distinguished by its ability to tolerate moist soils well.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to rust. The variety is valued for the excellent digestibility of its fiber and high palatability for animals.

The primary purpose of the variety is for use in pastures and for hay harvesting. The variety is also used in grass mixtures with legumes to improve forage quality.
