The Löken variety is a historical meadow fescue variety of Norwegian origin, intended for use as a forage grass. In modern agricultural practice, the variety is considered obsolete and has been removed from production, giving way to more modern breeding lines.
In comparative trials conducted in Norway, the variety demonstrated lower resistance to adverse abiotic and biotic factors, as well as lower dry matteryield compared to later varieties. Studies on the development physiology of the variety revealed specific requirements for day length and temperature regime necessary for the induction of flowering.
