The variety is used in grass mixtures for hayfields and pastures. In scientific research, it is used as a model organism in the study of molecular biology, plant physiology, and mechanisms of frost resistance.

Plants possess good adaptability and stable agronomic characteristics, however, they are sensitive to prolonged moisture deficit. Within breeding programs, the variety's tendency for seed shattering is being studied for further improvement of seed productivity.
