Festuca rubra L. Red fescue · Agricultural · bred by University of Liverpool (GB)

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was selected from grass populations naturally growing in contaminated territories. Its main feature is its resistance to high lead and zinc content in the soil, as well as the ability to survive in conditions of low fertility, cold, and drought.

The plant possesses specific physiological adaptations, while being characterized by slow growth and low suitability for ornamental turfgrass use. In a number of studies, its resistance to the disease "dollar spot" was noted.
