The Moncorde variety belongs to the species Festuca rubra and is known as a component of grass mixtures for lawn creation. Historically, the variety has appeared in international catalogs of breeding achievements since at least 1981.
In specialized publications from the 1980s, the variety was examined in the context of salt tolerance tests. Studies recorded a decrease in seed germination when exposed to elevated concentrations of sodium chloride.
