The variety belongs to the subspecies Festuca rubra L. ssp. commutata. This plant forms a dense sward with a fine leaf texture and has no underground shoots, unlike other forms of red fescue.
The plant possesses winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases, such as red thread. Due to its ability to withstand low mowing, the variety is used in landscape design and the creation of sports turf, in particular for golf courses.
