The variety is a perennial grass that forms a dense turf. Unlike many other types of hard fescue, which have a light or glaucous shade, Jetty possesses a dark green color.
The plant possesses resistance to diseases and drought, and is also capable of developing under shaded conditions. The variety is flexible in maintenance: it can be mowed low to create a lawn or used as tall vegetation.
The variety is used for landscaping residential areas, golf courses, land reclamation, strengthening road verges, and in conservation projects that require minimal maintenance.
