In official registers, the variety «Namib» appears in the context of two different species. In specialized summaries on turfgrasses, it is classified as hard fescue (Festuca trachyphylla), whereas in a number of other official documents of the agency it is assigned to the species meadow fescue (Festuca pratensis Huds.).
The variety is intended for use in seed mixtures for landscaping. Detailed agronomic characteristics, including exact morphological parameters, resistance to diseases, or productivity specifically for the variety «Namib» are absent in open publications.
