When grown in home conditions, the plant height usually reaches 1.2–2 meters, rarely up to 3 meters. Large leathery leaves have characteristic variegation: young shoots are often colored in a pronounced pink or red, which gradually fades as the leaf matures.

The variety has an exclusively decorative purpose and is used for landscaping residential and office premises. This species of Ficus is not considered a source of industrial raw materials, and modern decorative varieties are not used for rubber production.
