Young leaves have dark brown-green tones, which upon maturation transition to a dark gray-green color with a camouflage pattern and pink shades. The leaves are oval, glossy, with red main veins on both sides. The plant has a compact habit, with leaves arranged vertically and directed outwards on unbranched stems.

When stems are damaged, a white latex is secreted, which can cause skin irritation. The plant requires regular care, including cleaning dust from leaves and moderate pruning to shape the crown.
