The Robusta variety is a breeding form of the species Ficus elastica, adapted for indoor use. The plant is characterized by larger and wider leaves compared to the typical species. When grown indoors, it reaches a height of 0.6 to 3 meters.

The plant is used exclusively for decorative purposes for interior landscaping. It is considered relatively hardy and low-maintenance; however, if growing conditions are violated, such as waterlogging or poor ventilation, it can be susceptible to fungal diseases and pest infestations.
