The varieties Josan and Joly Josan are evergreen perennials intended for indoor cultivation and terrariums. The plants have a creeping growth habit, reaching a height of up to 10–15 cm. The leaves are elliptical or oval in shape with a blunt tip, dark green in color with clearly defined veins.

The main difference between the cultivars lies in the intensity of the vein coloration and compactness. In the Joly Josan variety, the veins have a more saturated red color, and the leaf margins are less wavy compared to the parent variety Josan. The plants are thermophilic, require high air humidity, and are stable under vegetative propagation.
