The variety forms rounded or thick fleshy bulbs weighing 300–400 g. Plant height before the bolting stage is 60–70 cm. There is conflicting data in sources regarding maturity: the variety is described as both early with a vegetation period of 80–95 days and late-maturing.
The produce has a sweet taste and anise aroma. Both the bulbs, which can be eaten fresh, boiled, fried, or baked, and the leaves, used as a spicy seasoning, are edible. The variety is resistant to premature bolting but sensitive to water regime: stems may crack if there is a lack of irrigation.
