The name «Yalova» refers to a number of strawberry breeding lines created by crossing local Turkish forms with foreign varieties. Known line numbers include Yalova-9, 13, 14, 15, 21, 104, 107, 110, 125, and 416.
The characteristics of the lines vary. Specifically, the forms Yalova-15, 104, and 416 show increased soil salinity tolerance, and Yalova-107 is characterized by an early maturity date. Under experimental conditions at extremely low temperatures (-20...-25 °C), the plants demonstrated a high degree of crown damage.
