The variety is an ornamental hybrid, presumably obtained by crossing garden strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) and marsh cinquefoil (Comarum palustre). The plant is low-growing, reaching a height of 15 cm, and forms dense rosettes of dark green trifoliate leaves.

The plant is used for planting in containers, balcony boxes, and as a ground cover element in flower beds. It grows well in sun and partial shade, preferring ordinary garden soil.

The variety produces small edible fruits, however, the productive characteristics of the berries are not a priority due to the ornamental purpose of the plant. In trade, the variety is often found under the name Lipstick.
