The variety belongs to the large-flowered gladiolus group. The plant height varies from 90 to 150 cm. The large funnel-shaped flowers reach a diameter of 10–15 cm, have a rich dark maroon color and a velvety petal texture with slight ruffling. The spike-like inflorescence can contain up to 10–15 simultaneously opened buds; the leaves are sword-shaped and emerald green.
The plant blooms from July to September. Due to the height of the flower stalks, the variety requires staking to protect against lodging. The plant is heat-loving and does not overwinter in open ground, so the bulbs must be dug up annually and stored at a temperature of +5…+10 °C. The variety is suitable for cutting and creating accent groups in landscape design.
