Gladiolus variety Fado is a mid-early ornamental bulbous plant. Flowering occurs in the period from July to September. 15 or more buds can form in one inflorescence. The height of the flower spike varies from 100 to 160 cm.

The flowers are large, 15–20 cm in diameter, with semi-ruffled petals in shades of pink. The variety is intended for use in ornamental gardening and for creating bouquets. The plant does not overwinter in open field conditions and requires annual lifting of corms for storage.
