The Kings Lynn variety belongs to the group of large-flowered gladioli and has the code 479 in the international NAGC classification. The flowers are funnel-shaped, 10–15 cm in diameter, and colored dark purple or violet-white with a purple tint and a white spot in the center. The inflorescences are spike-shaped, two-rowed, and moderately loose.
The height of the flower stalks is usually 100–120 cm, but can vary from 70 to 150 cm. The variety is intended for cutting and decorative garden design. The plant is not winter-hardy; corms require mandatory digging for the winter and storage at a temperature of +5...+10°C. Sunny areas with well-drained soils are preferred for cultivation; flower stalks require support if necessary.
