The plant belongs to decorative crops and is valued for its unusual bright bracts, in which yellow flowers are located. The color of the bracts is described as purple, corresponding to shade 71C on the color scale, with elements of yellow-orange color corresponding to shade 21B.

For representatives of the species, optimal conditions are considered a temperature of 20–22°C at night and 25–28°C during the day. The crop is characterized as labor-intensive to grow, especially in the processes of harvesting and cleaning the flowers.
