The plant has erect stems developing from underground rhizomes and is characterized by a pronounced winter dormancy period with the dieback of the above-ground part. The variety was previously known under the name «Britney».

Suitable for cultivation in containers and winter gardens. The inflorescences have decorative bracts. The plant prefers partial shade conditions and requires regular watering.
