The variety «Aurora» was introduced in 1997 and became widespread in Paraguay, occupying a significant portion of the cultivated area. Due to its high protein content, the variety was intended for food purposes, including export supplies to the Japanese market.

In scientific literature, the variety is characterized as susceptible to soybean rust, and therefore is used as a susceptible control standard in the development and testing of new lines. The variety was also used as a control sample in field trials to evaluate the stability and yield of promising lines.
